Love at First Blush: Linneys Tribute to the World's Rarest Diamonds

They represent the most concentrated form of wealth on Earth, but for Linneys Founder, Alan Linney, the appeal of Argyle pink diamonds lies in their rich Australian heritage. These gems, formed over 1.6 billion years ago amid the breathtaking landscape of East Kimberley, embarked on a remarkable journey to the world stage. From 1983 to 2020, a blushing era unfolded as the Argyle diamond mine unearthed virtually the entire world’s supply of rare pink, red, and blue diamonds. Astonishingly, diamonds in this exclusive category constituted less than 1% of the mine's total production, elevating Argyle pink diamonds to the status of the rarest diamonds in the world.

Alan has had the privilege of working with these extraordinary specimens since the emergence of Argyle pink diamonds on the world stage, following Linneys' selection as an Argyle Pink Diamonds Select Atelier—a distinction bestowed upon just 37 jewelers globally. According to Alan,

“Working with Argyle pink diamonds really has been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. When I started working with jewellery, Australia, was of course renowned for its gold, but pearls and diamonds from Western Australia were unheard of,

“We were quick to embrace these Australian treasures by becoming an Argyle Pink Diamonds Select Atelier. It's an immense privilege to have had access to such extraordinary stones that resonate with our rich Western Australian heritage, he said."

In homage to Linneys' enduring admiration for Argyle pink diamonds, each piece within its esteemed Artisan Collection is embellished with at least one rare Argyle pink diamond. These 50 one-of-a-kind creations, envisioned as 'wearable art,' were unveiled in celebration of Linneys 50-year anniversary.
