Linneys Collaborates With Mr Mason Roberts

For Father’s Day, two Western Australian artists collaborated on a creative project that perfectly illustrated the value of family relationships. Artist and model, Mason Roberts, teamed up with family business Linneys Jewellery for a special project. Mason created a portrait that captures a Father and his Sons.

Idea Behind the Collaboration

The idea behind the collaboration, envisioned by Linneys and Mason, was for a unique family portrait. Using his iconic line illustration, Mason sketched Alan Linney, Founder of Linneys Jewellery, and his three sons, Nathan, Troy and Justin, who are all working in the family business. With Father’s Day on Sunday 3rd September, this collaboration was very timely and the illustrations were representative of the bond between Father and his Son.

Mason has been perfecting his drawing skills for many years whilst exploring various other hobbies, including modelling. He is signed with modelling agency Vivien’s. Mason discovered his true passion for art while modelling in Milan. For Mason, modelling and art have always gone hand in hand, but it wasn't until 2016, when Mason walked for designer Yohji Yamamoto in Paris, that his art was recognised as a true talent. Mason decided to draw Mr. Yamamoto, and his detailed portrait was received with acclaim. Mason has been in constant pursuit of fashion and art ever since.

Years of Experience

With over fifty years of experience, Alan Linney has always combined the worlds of fashion and art. Alan Linney is renowned for challenging the concept of traditional jewellery, including an exhibition of framed ‘Jewellery Art’, which incorporated wearable pieces into wall-hung artworks. Some of these pieces are still available at Linneys Subiaco Studio. With Creative Director, Justin Linney leading the way, Linneys has collaborated with many artists and designers, putting Linneys at the forefront of Perth’s fine jewellery and fashion industry.

Justin Linney mentioned “This collaboration highlighted the creative talent that we have in Western Australia and promotes creativity in Perth”. Mason said “I am very excited that my art has become so popular that I am teaming up with high end, established brands like Linneys”. We are looking forward to the next phase of this collaboration where Masons illustrations will be interpreted as fine jewellery using precious metals.
