Inspirational Linneys Mother - Kristin Fisher
Inspirational Mothers - Kristin Fisher
Kristin Fisher founded Kristin Fisher Eyebrows which is recognised as Sydney’s premier eyebrow salon, and the home of bespoke brows. Kristin familiarized herself with Linneys while she was growing up in Broome, and still visits our three Perth showrooms every time she is in Perth. Kristin’s business has grown exponentially in the past few years and she has some exciting things in the pipeline, all while looking after her two young children.
Tell us a little bit about you and what you do?
I moved to Sydney from Perth in 2009 and have been rather busy ever since. It was then that I met my husband Chris and we now have two small children, Lila who is 4 and Eddie who is 3.
I am also the owner of Kristin Fisher Eyebrows, Sydney’s premier eyebrow salon. What started out as a hole-in-the-wall space inside one of my husband’s gym’s, soon grew into the thriving business that it is today. My salon in Double Bay is only two years old and already we are expanding into a space that is 3 times the size which will also be in Double Bay. This is a huge project and I am hoping to be open before the end of this year. We are also opening another salon at the stunning La Porte space which is the most ‘Instagrammable’ space in Sydney!
Doing all of this whilst having small children definitely has its challenges (what is sleep?!) but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I function best when I have a million things happening!
How has being a Mum changed your life?
First and foremost it has taught me a love like no other. People tell you this before you have children but it really is impossible to put into words. Your natural instincts kick in instantly and you are fiercely protective over your children from the second they are born.
It has also taught me to slow down and live in the moment (I’m still working on this one!) Seeing the world through my children’s eyes is the most magical thing. I love watching them play and learn. It truly makes my heart swell.
I’ve always been an organised person, but since becoming a mum I have become organised on a whole new level. It’s the only way to survive the very busy mornings in our home!
If you could only wear one piece of jewellery for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A whopping big engagement ring!
Which women have inspired you?
My mum and my sisters inspire me every single day. I’m so lucky to have been brought up by and alongside such strong and independent women. I am also in awe of Emily Weiss – founder of Glossier. Her business model is incredible and I hope to someday create something similar… watch this space ;)
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I grew up in a small town in the Kimberleys in Western Australia called Broome – it still to this day holds the best memories for me!
What makes you smile the most?
My family. My husband and I laugh a lot, and often at our kids. They make me the happiest.
What’s one piece of advice you would like to pass onto your children?
To be kind to everyone they meet.
