Pearls are formed over many years and are inherently resilient, but they still require care to preserve their timeless elegance. To maintain their beauty, we invite you to follow our three golden rules for pearl jewellery care.
1 - Last thing you put on, and the first thing you take off
Pearls are the final touch of elegance—never the first. Apply fragrance, cosmetics and hairspray before adorning yourself with pearls. Remove rings and bracelets before applying lotions. and deserve to be worn with care. When you are finished enjoying your day, let your pearls be the first thing that you take off.
2 - Avoid chemicals
Pearls are calcium carbonate like our teeth so they’re sensitive to chemicals and need cleaning. After each wear, to maintain the lustre you can softly wipe your pearls with a clean, damp cloth. If needed, a mild soap solution can be used —never immerse a strand though. Being organic gems, avoid ultrasonic cleaners, abrasives, or harsh detergents that can damage their radiant nacre.
3 - Store with care
Protect pearls from harder jewels by storing them separately, wrapped in a soft cloth or housed in a lined box. For strands, we recommend a professional inspection and restringing every 12 months to preserve its strength and beauty.
